Already a seat of artistic endeavour, the ANU Exchange plans to expand and build upon the University’s cultural reputation. It will be a major creative centre for culture and the arts by leveraging the existing community facilities and creating new opportunities.
The broader community includes such esteemed venues as the ANU School of Art and School of Music, Llewellyn Hall, the National Film & Sound Archive, Drill Hall Gallery and the ACT Government Street Theatre. Arts Lane and Latin American Plaza join new community, arts and entertainment facilities to support a growing patronage.
The social fabric of the ANU Exchange continues to change, with growing numbers of professionals, researchers and students interacting in the community. The ANU Exchange will ultimately be home to more than 4,000 employees and nearly 2,000 students. Researchers and professionals can work side by side in a precinct purpose-built to spur new ideas, new potential and new economic competitiveness.
The interactions and engagement of a growing population of professionals, researchers and students is fostered by the ANU Exchange’s retail opportunities. Significant provisions have been made for new food outlets and specialty retail, as well as new services at street level to create a vibrant scene. |
